Generally speaking, Vietnam's social achievements regarding education and health are way above the average of low-income developing countries (to which it belongs), and sometimes even above the average of upper-middle income countries. However, there are a few areas which are not so remarkable. The supply of safe water in Vietnam lags behind the records of other developing countries.
